Category Archives: Nintendo Switch Rumors
Here we are 10 days before the Nintendo Switch presentation and we are getting a rumor that Zelda Breath of the Wild will indeed be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch.
This report comes from Laura Kate Dale who originally reported Zelda Breath of the Wild would not make the Nintendo Switch launch due to delays in localization. Here is what she stated on Twitter:
Contrary to my past report on BOTW release date it is 100% coming at Switch launch in North America in March. Have seen finalised materials.
— Laura Kate Dale (@LaurakBuzz) January 2, 2017
No clue why EU sources say June, but in NA at least BOTW will hit Switch day one. No clue on Wii U version.
— Laura Kate Dale (@LaurakBuzz) January 2, 2017
Laura Kate seems to be pretty sure stating Zelda is “100%” going to be available at launch in the U.S. Honestly, I always believed Zelda would make it as a launch title so I can’t necessarily argue with this report. Yes, this is only a rumor at this point but we can put an end to this rumor on January 12th. What are your thoughts on this rumor? Do you think Zelda will make it as a launch title or be delayed?
As we wait for the Nintendo Switch presentation on January 12, 2017 we really do not have much to talk about except for rumors. Today we have a whole handful of rumors including the rumor that Nintendo will be no friend codes on the Nintendo Switch.
Youtube user OBE1plays was streaming when the infamous source of Nintendo Switch leaks Laura Kate Dale showed up. OBE1plays and Laura did a Skype call which was broadcasted to Youtube. The 30 minute stream consisted of both of them discussing and answering questions about the Nintendo Switch. Here is a brief round up of all the most important topics they discussed.
- There will be NO friend codes. DeNa will be assisting with the network Nintendo has set up.
- There is a button to record gameplay on the left Joy-con.
- Laura stated Red Dead Redemption will most likely not come to the Nintendo Switch due to Nintendo’s relationship with Rockstar.
- Laura also stated Overwatch may make it to the Switch but the port would have to be completely remade to work on the Switch.
- Laura and OBE1 were asked about voice chat but they jumped around the question stating they would be covering that news shortly.
- The Switch will have Bluetooth capabilities.
- Joy-cons will be available for purchase separately and the docks will be as well.
- The Pro-controller will not be available in a bundle with the Nintendo Switch.
- The battery power will last around 3 hours with everything at maximum.
- The Switch uses a USB charging port.
- Only 3 GameCube Virtual Console games will be available at launch.
- Only the gray colored Nintendo Switch will be available at launch.
- The right Joy-con has an IR pointer similar to the Wii remote.
As always these are ALL just rumors. If you wish to watch the full Youtube video, you can check it out below:
A brand new rumor just surfaced that GameCube Virtual console will be coming to the Nintendo Switch. Not only will we be able to play GameCube titles on the Switch, but there are already several titles smoothly running and ready for release.
This report was originally released by EuroGamer and this rumor was revealed to them via 3 separate sources. Supposedly, three Nintendo titles are running efficiently. This includes: Luigi’s Mansion, Super Mario Sunshine, and Smash Bros. These are 3 of the biggest titles ever released on the GameCube which makes this rumor very exciting to say the least. To top it off, supposedly the next title in the works in Animal Crossing GameCube.
One thing to note about Animal Crossing on the GameCube is the fact that it was originally released with support for several NES titles. Currently these NES titles are rumored to running and working on the Switch virtual console. This means we could possibly emulate a NES game on a GameCube emulator on a Nintendo Switch.. wow that was a mouthful.
Another interesting piece of this rumor is that Nintendo Switch Virtual Console is being programmed by Nerd, the infamous developers of the NES Mini. So maybe we will see a full on NES virtual console at some point. Especially with how well the NES Mini has sold. If only I could have got one… yeah, I’m looking at you scalpers!
Keep in mind, this is a RUMOR. Even though it has been “confirmed” by 3 separate sources there is always a chance this may not be real. This rumor does appear to be true from everything we’ve seen leaked so far.
One theory I personally have is that we may end up getting Wave Race via Virtual console considering the recent trademark request. While this would be great, I am still hoping we get a brand new Wave Race title on the Nintendo Switch.
In regards to the GameCube virtual console, if the rumors are true, what game would you like to have released? I think of GameCube games as Pokemon.. I gotta have them all.
Maybe this whole rumored Mario Rabbids RPG isn’t so much a rumor after all. Ubisoft recently revealed Mario Rabbids characters in a video celebrating Ubisoft’s 30th anniversary.
This falls under the rumor category for a reason though. This is NOT confirmation of Mario Rabbids RPG. While displaying Mario themed Rabbids characters is a good indicator a rabbids and mario hybrid title is legit, this is only speculation. The video, spotted by a user on NEOGAF, shows a glimpse of Mario, Luigi, Toad, and several other small shaped characters. Towards the end of the video there also a set of South Park Rabbids characters being displayed. Take a look at the video below:
I think it is interesting considering this was an event celebrating 30 years of Ubisoft titles, yet Rabbids filled up most of the video. Personally I do believe this is Ubisoft’s way of teasing the Rabbids RPG title. I still won’t say it’s confirmed, but this just adds some further confirmation towards the possibility of the title being real.
IF Mario Rabbids RPG is real, I definitely see Mario Rabbids Amiibo being released. I wouldn’t be surprised to see Mario Rabbids Amiibo launch along side the game. I could definitely see myself buying a handful of Rabbids Amiibo. Toad is definitely my favorite from the ones displayed in the video.
I would like to know your thoughts on this video revealed by Ubisoft. Do you like the way the Mario characters look? Also does Mario Rabbids RPG interest you at all or do you think it would be too gimmicky? Let me know in the comments. You can read about the hands on event HERE.
The old Wave Race series, which was popular on the Gamecube and the N64, may be making a comeback! A trademark was just filed for Wave Race in Europe. Can we please get Wave Race Nintendo Switch edition??
So earlier today, a trademark was filed HERE for Wave Race. Here is a screenshot below if you wish not to go to the site.
This could be literally mean nothing at all, BUT is it possible they are looking to bring the series to the Nintendo Switch? Honestly, it would make sense. Wave Race was very successful and we haven’t seen a new release since 2001. Nintendo did file patents for a new Wave Race back in 2009. In 2009 they planned to release Wave Race on the Wii and to take full advantage of the motion controls and balance board. We all know Wii sports Resorts had a bigger appeal though, and it included Jet Skiing.
The Nintendo Switch may be Wave Race’s opportunity to shine though. It just makes sense to make Wave Race Nintendo Switch. What are the chances of another power skiing game coming to the Nintendo Switch? Especially one that gamers would actually enjoy. I don’t think Wave Race would necessarily sell consoles for Nintendo, but I think Wave Race would sell very well. What do you all think about Wave Race possibly coming to the Nintendo Switch? If you are interested to see what other games are rumored/confirmed for the Nintendo Switch, you can check out our full list HERE.
Has the Nintendo Switch price tag been leaked? Here we go again with websites and people spilling the beans before the Nintendo Switch direct on January 12. By time January 12th gets here, we will already know everything about the console at this rate.
So, back to the price leak. Earlier today, the Toys R’ Us Canadian website listed the Nintendo Switch in their directory. The Nintendo Switch was listed under the price tag of $329.00 in Canada. This equals approximately $250.00 here in the United States. There is a possibility this could just be a placeholder price so nothing is set in stone yet, but Toys R’ Us has since removed the entire listing from their website which is somewhat odd. Here is a screenshot of the post before it was removed.
I think it is interesting to note that Nintendo has previously stated they would not be selling the Nintendo Switch at a loss. If Nintendo is able to retail the Nintendo Switch at $250.00 and still cut a profit, the Nintendo Switch will be a HUGE success. Keep in mind this is all merely speculation at this point. Retail sites are known to list placeholder price tags on new products. I am unsure who originally found this information, but I can update this article if anyone knows who located this.
The rumored $250.00 price point has potential Nintendo Switch customers very excited. I personally hope this is one of the few leaks that has some truth to it. The consumer is always right, which is why the Nintendo Switch price tag will play a big role in the success of the system.
In other news, we are continuing to get loads of rumored/confirmed games coming to the Nintendo Switch. We have a page dedicated to all the latest Nintendo Switch game announcements which you can find HERE. As always we are your number 1 source for exclusive Nintendo Switch content, so stay tuned for more updates.
We have found yet another Nintendo Switch rumor: Super Mario Galaxy 3 is possibly in the works. Not only is Super Mario Galaxy 3 rumored to be in production, but also Super Mario Sunshine HD. This is only a RUMOR at this point, so read accordingly.
Charles Martinet, who we all know as the famous voice of Mario and various other Nintendo characters, recently updated his IMDb page. The link takes you to the cached page which was updated on November 8, 2016 because shortly after Martinet’s page was updated, the content was removed. So what exactly was updated on his page? The following titles were listed under game titles he has worked on:
- Super Mario Maker Deluxe (2017)
- Super Mario Sunshine HD (2017)
- Super Mario Galaxy 3 (post-production, 2016)
- Untitled Mario Golf Game for Wii U (pre-production)
Why would the information be removed shortly after being posted?
Nobody really knows. Either Martinet was told to remove the items for fear of the games being leaked, or Martinet wanted to tease us. Another big question is why would Nintendo be working on a Mario golf game for the WiiU now that they are discontinuing sales of the WiiU? This really does not make much sense.
Is it possible Super Mario Sunshine HD could be a launch title for the Nintendo Switch? It COULD happen, but there has been no other rumors suggesting this is true. Several sources have stated the Super Mario 3D showcased in the Nintendo Switch trailer is indeed a NEW mario title, so we also doubt it was footage of Super Mario Galaxy 3.
If these rumors are true, the Nintendo Switch will be making a lot of fans very happy. Potentially seeing several large and successful mario releases for the Nintendo Switch within the first year would do wonders for sales. Only time will tell at this point though. What do you all think about this rumor? What are the chances of it being legit?
Zelda Twilight Princess Nintendo Switch? It is a possibility. If anyone is half as excited about the Nintendo Switch as we are, then you will be glad to hear Tantalus Games have confirmed they are working on a Nintendo Switch title. Tantalus Games are the developers of Zelda: Twilight Princess, which was released on the WiiU earlier this year, so what can we expect Zelda: Twilight Princess Nintendo Switch?
In the interview conducted by Maxi-Geek, Tom Crago, the CEO of Tantalus stated the following.
Question – Given your studios’ history with Nintendo, can you say anything about any potential Switch games you are working on?
Answer – I can confirm that we’re working on Switch, and have been for some time. Our titles haven’t been announced as yet, but keep an eye out for more news soon.
So what can we expect?:
At this time no specifics have been announced from Tantalus, but Crago did mention “titles” which makes me believe there will be multiple release. Tantalus also went on to encourage players to let them know which titles they would like to see ported onto the Nintendo Switch.
We’ve always worked on Nintendo platforms and now of course after Twilight Princess HD our relationship with Nintendo is stronger than ever. I expect fans will look back through Nintendo’s catalogue and think about which titles they’d like us to bring to Switch. Everyone should feel free to make suggestions on our FaceBook page 😉
I think it is safe to say we may end up seeing Twilight Princess HD release on the Nintendo Switch very early on. Tantalus also seems to be very pleased with the Nintendo Switch. Perhaps they have been working on a new title for the Nintendo Switch? We will keep our followers of the Nintendo Switch Network updated when we find out more news on Tantalus’s Nintendo Switch involvement. Stay tuned for more!
Shantae Half Genie Hero Nintendo Switch hasn’t been announced yet but, there are rumors of it being announced soon.
Shantae is a platforming, adventure series, which debuted on the Game Boy Color in 2002. Because it was released at the end of the Game Boy Color’s lifespan, it wasn’t popular until a year or so after release. The gameplay allowed the series to grow quickly in popularity, being known as one of the best games on the Game Boy Color. The original copies of Shantae now sell for up to $300 on eBay, as a collector’s item.
Shantae’s main attack is with her hair, which she uses as a whip. How would you feel getting whipped to death by someones hair? Because she is a genie, she can transform into different animals. Every animal has a specific ability, according to what kind of animal it is. The trailer shows a few animals in the game, including a monkey, spider, crab, and even an elephant. Not only does the trailer showcase quite a bit of action, but there appears to be several boss fights.
Currently, none of the storyline has been announced yet. However, the main antagonist, Risky Boots, will be the main villain in this game as in previous installments. Here is a preview of what we can expected from Shantae: Half Genie Hero straight from the developers:
In our story, Shantae is roused from a deep sleep, suddenly alert. She plunges into the moonlit forest in search of answers. In nearby Scuttle Town she discovers a mysterious trapdoor, and beyond that, a luminous subterranean cavern. A familiar voice calls out, drawing Shantae to a beautiful fountain. Touching its waters she is immediately spirited away to the fabled Genie Realm. At her feet a magical seal swells as some powerful evil seeks escape. The chamber trembles with a deep, bellowing roar and everything goes white. Shantae sits upright, back in her bed. Was it just a dream? Or a vision of things to come?
As the player it’s your job to find the source of this new evil power and banish it once and for all. The story is doled out in CHAPTERS, with each chapter introducing new subplots, friends & foes, a new Transformation to discover, puzzles to solve, hazards to overcome, and a Boss to conquer. Revisiting past chapters with newly acquired abilities will unlock the next set of paths, powers & plot-lines.
Sounds exciting! Here is an official trailer of the Shantae: Half Genie Hero.
