Nintendo Switch Price rumored to be $250

Has the Nintendo Switch price tag been leaked? Here we go again with websites and people spilling the beans before the Nintendo Switch direct on January 12. By time January 12th gets here, we will already know everything about the console at this rate.

So, back to the price leak. Earlier today, the Toys R’ Us Canadian website listed the Nintendo Switch in their directory. The Nintendo Switch was listed under the price tag of $329.00 in Canada. This equals approximately $250.00 here in the United States. There is a possibility this could just be a placeholder price so nothing is set in stone yet, but Toys R’ Us has since removed the entire listing from their website which is somewhat odd. Here is a screenshot of the post before it was removed.

I think it is interesting to note that Nintendo has previously stated they would not be selling the Nintendo Switch at a loss. If Nintendo is able to retail the Nintendo Switch at $250.00 and still cut a profit, the Nintendo Switch will be a HUGE success. Keep in mind this is all merely speculation at this point. Retail sites are known to list placeholder price tags on new products. I am unsure who originally found this information, but I can update this article if anyone knows who located this.

The rumored $250.00 price point has potential Nintendo Switch customers very excited. I personally hope this is one of the few leaks that has some truth to it. The consumer is always right, which is why the Nintendo Switch price tag will play a big role in the success of the system.
